Research institutions

Excellent research institutions execute fundamental research, whose impacts are brought by the Centre into practice. All the institutions have rich experiences with fundamental research within the cybersecurity area.

Masaryk University 

Masaryk University (MU) is the second oldest Czech university and due to a number of its students and accredited study fields, it is also the second biggest university in the Czech Republic. MU is significantly engaged in the cybersecurity area. A few laboratories can be found at Faculty of Informatics, the university has its own CSIRT team, which is also the creator of the successful project KYPO Cyber Range. The law aspects of cybersecurity are investigated at the Faculty of Law at the Institute of Law and Technology. Almost all the mentioned parties are connected in the Masaryk University´s Centre of Excellence.

BUT is public university focused on technical, economic sciences and fine arts. Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Communication and Faculty of Information Technology are actively engaged in cybersecurity.

CESNET is an association of universities and Czech Academy of Sciences. It operates and develops national e-infrastructure for science, research and education including computer network, grid computing, data storages, environment for cooperation and it also offer a wide range of services. CESNET has already arranged many successful projects focusing on cybersecurity.
